Abstract
The issue of ijtihad is one of the most important and challenging topics in the current era, so many questions have been raised about its nature and topics. Many orientalists or biased and enemies who want to attack the root of the revolution have attacked this important principle and raised doubts about it; Therefore, it is necessary to answer these doubts. Among the doubts raised is that ijtihad does not have a historical record, it is a heresy and it is not legitimate. In this article, this doubt has been answered and proven by bringing the evidence of the legitimacy of ijtihad (verses, traditions, rational reasons, the way of the Shariah). Ijtihad is legitimate according to Sharia law.
