Abstract

"One of women's most fundamental rights is to be respected and valued, not solely for their gender but as individuals with inherent dignity and worth. This implies that society must safeguard women's dignity and individuality, protecting them from all forms of violence and abuse, and providing a secure and tranquil environment for their psychological and intellectual development. These principles are enshrined in Article 5 of the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women, adopted on December 18, 1979, which underscores the importance of transforming behavioral and cultural patterns toward women. The objective of these transformations is to eradicate prejudices and gender stereotypes that perpetuate unjust disparities between men and women. This research delves into paragraph (a) of Article 5 of the Convention through the lens of Islamic teachings, utilizing a descriptive- analytical approach to demonstrate that this article encompasses two pivotal aspects: firstly, the preservation of women's dignity and secondly, the reform of social interactions with women. Both of these facets are profoundly emphasized within Islamic jurisprudence and law.”
