Abstract

The family is one of the main pillars of Islamic society and has a high status. The policy of population control and limitation has been considered by the governing institutions in the Islamic Republic of Iran since 1989 to get rid of social and economic problems and has been implemented for consecutive years without paying attention to its adverse consequences. In recent years, as its serious and irreparable dangers became apparent, the wise leader of Iran emphasized the revision of this policy and pointed out its adverse consequences; these orders, which were put forward by the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, in addition to intellectual support and precise expertise, also benefit from jurisprudential and religious documents that can be used as the basis for action as the "population policy of the Islamic Republic of Iran". This article has been compiled using a descriptive-analytical method and citing reliable books and articles. The purpose of the research is to cite the statements of Ayatollah Khamenei (may God protect him) about population and family planning along with its basic axes. Now we must see what is meant by family planning in the view of the Supreme Leader of the Revolution? What can be deduced as a research outcome from this research is the desirability of the population and attention to its qualitative characteristics, the duties of the government towards it, etc. Therefore, the present research aims to present a new approach along with important topics such as examining different opinions about family planning, the jurisprudential documentation of this view, attention to spirituality, education, etc.
